Our History

ZipTape Label ID Sytems traces its origin to 1901 when its founder, Walter A. Plummer, first introduced the W.A. Plummer Mfg. Company, an industrial textile company that manufactured tents, flags, and water pouches. As technology evolved and plastics replaced canvas, W.A. Plummer recognized the untapped growth potential and soon began to manufacture and market patented cable jacketing and shielding systems under The Zippertubing ® Company (Founded in 1957). The subsidiary, Ziptape Label ID Systems, was established in the early 1960’s to address the identification requirements of the wire harness and wire management industry. Ziptape continues today to manufacture its popular patented wire marking products in Tempe, Arizona utilizing specially designed equipment and techniques specifically engineered to exceed industry standards.

Over the years, many of our loyal Ziptape customers had expressed the desire to purchase their cable management products from us because of our excellent customer service and willingness to meet their needs. As a result, Zip-Ty.com was created to further support our long term customers and provide a more complete product line.

 

Zip-Ty specifically offers low prices for case quantity cable ties as well as accessories. We also offer many custom options such as a variety of colored and imprinted cable ties.
